National Projects
Since the Catholic Daughters of the Americas have had the same
National Projects for many years, and over the years have also added
several voluntary National Charities, it was felt that it was time to
revamp the National Projects and National Charities. At the State
Officers conference in Belleville, Illinois in July, 2007 it was
passed to have five (5) National Projects. Each local
court would donate $15.00 or more per project per year to these
projects. The other National Charities listed would be voluntary ones
to which the courts can choose to donate.

Each local court would donate $15.00 or more per year per
project. Make checks payable to "Catholic Daughters of the
Americas," and earmark in the left-hand corner the specific
charity. Each Pennsylvania Court should mail their check
to the State Secretary Peg Rafferty.
- DISASTER FUND: This money is used to help dioceses where
there are disasters. It can benefit any area where there are Catholic
Daughters. This is a very important charitable work of the Catholic
Daughters and makes us visible to our Bishops.
- HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: Many states are interested in
building a Habitat home in their state. There are some State Courts
that are saving to build in their own state. As a National Project, it
will allow the National CDA to have funds to continue to build at
least one National/State CDA house each year.
- HOLY CROSS FAMILY ROSARY: (also known as Father Peyton's
Rosary) Because the Blessed Mother is the Patroness of the Catholic
Daughters of the Americas, and the Catholic Daughters have a strong
devotion to her, retaining the promotion of the rosary is an important
Charitable Project.
- SMILE TRAIN: This is a new program that was proposed in
2006 at the National convention. It assists poor children throughout
the world who would not have the opportunity to have their cleft
lip/palate repaired if it were not for this program. All money donated
to this program goes toward the surgeries. This is a great way to
share our charity with the poor throughout the world.
- SOAR: All Catholic Daughters have benefited greatly from
the religious members of our church, most of whom had no retirement
benefits. Because Catholic Daughters have been a major part of
assisting them through our donations, this is a project will continue.
